It seems that I am lucky this year to DJ in some beautiful locations! It’s not just Grand Rapids locations in which I DJ. How does a ceremony and reception outside along Lake Macatawa sound?
This was the first wedding ceremony and reception held at the new facilities at the Boatwerks in Holland. There is a new courtyard for a wedding ceremony. Here’s a picture before all the guests showed up!
Right next to this courtyard is the new reception hall with large sliding doors that allow guests to walk right from the ceremony inside for the cocktail hour. Music during this time included selections of Ben Rector and Mat Kearney.
We all enjoyed the great food during dinner and then we moved the party outside for the special dances! The photographers loved this because how great does a first dance look when you’ve got a lake sunset behind you?
The couple celebrated their first dance to Ben Rector’s “After All.” The bride danced with her father to “In My Life.” The groom danced with his mom to Jason Mraz’s “93 Million Miles”
Have the slider’s open were a great feature at Boatwerks because the weather was perfect!
The crowd was dancing all night long! We jumped around from classic wedding songs from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. We played a lot of pop from the 2000’s and current top 40 hits.
Brittany and Johnathan were a great couple to work with. Their friends and family knew how to have a good time and kept the dance floor packed. They stayed out all night til the last song, of “Sweet Caroline.” Congratulations guys!
